Introducing the 153m / 502ft Hybrid Mega-Yacht by Gary Grant — A New Benchmark in Ultra-Luxury and Innovation
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
USA — December 29, 2025 — Gary Grant Design unveils the concept for the 153-meter / 502ft Hybrid Mega-Yacht, a visionary leap in ultra-luxury yachting that redefines design, speed and sustainability, at giga-yacht scale.
Gary Grant’s signature use of formed and sculpted glass transforms the superstructure into a panoramic sanctuary. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls with deck to overhead distance exceeding 17ft or 5.2m in the main saloon. Open-plan layouts and convertible beach clubs create immersive indoor-outdoor living spaces. Spatial planning emphasizes wellness, entertainment, and privacy.
At 153 meters (502 ft) long, the yacht is one of the largest private vessels ever conceived and can reach speeds up to 50 knots. This unprecedented blend of size and velocity is enabled by an advanced hybrid propulsion system, combining Wärtsilä 31 engines, hybrid electric system including a large energy storage system, as well as electric drives powering two waterjets. Additionally, twin Rolls-Royce MT30s will power two further Wärtsilä waterjets, ensuring maximum performance.
The yacht’s zero-emission capability allows silent, battery-electric cruising in sensitive marine reserves and eco-regulated ports. Smart energy management systems orchestrate power flows to ensure a minimal ecological footprint.
With a portfolio including Margaux, Adler II, Crazy Me, and Thermal Runaway, Gary Grant brings decades of expertise in marine design and sculptural aesthetics. The 153m Hybrid Mega-Yacht represents a uniquely advanced technology platform and a new era of sustainable luxury at giga-yacht scale.

Superyacht Times:
“…The 153m hybrid superyacht concept draws upon the studio’s signature use of formed and sculpted glass, with the superstructure conceived as a ‘panoramic sanctuary.’ She is defined by floor-to-ceiling windows, which dominate the main saloon and amplify her 5.2-metre ceiling height.
Her open-plan interior layout is paired with a convertible beach club outside, which aims to blur the boundary between inside and out, while her general arrangement prioritises wellness areas, entertainment zones and privacy.
Gary Grant Design draws on a portfolio that includes yachts such as the 50-metre Heesen superyacht Crazy Me, the 41.45-metre Lauderdale Marine Center yacht Adler, the 35.4-metre Advanced Ocean Systems yacht Margaux and the 24.38-metre Norseman yacht Aqua Villa.
Sustainability is a central element of the design brief, with the 153m hybrid superyacht’s propulsion system allowing for zero-emissions, battery-electric operation and silent cruising in environmentally sensitive areas and ports with strict emissions regulations.”
Boat International:
“…American studio Gary Grant Design has unveiled a new 153-metre hybrid superyacht concept, which, if built, would be the largest hybrid superyacht in the world.
Intending to redefine design, speed and sustainability at a "giga-yacht scale", the mammoth yacht concept is centred on an advanced hybrid propulsion system, offering zero-emission capabilities alongside speeds of up to 50 knots.
Studio founder, Gary Grant, explained: "This design has been in the works for 12 months and has been developed around the propulsion system as well as numerous mathematical performance models."
